FAQ about the tests in ISO 21500/ISO 21502, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27005.

How many points must I get to pass the tests? 

For the test in ISO 21500/ISO 21502 you need to get 118 points out of 173 points to pass. For the tests in ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27005 you need to get 28 out of 40 points to pass each. 

When will I know if I passed the tests? 

You will receive the result of the test within 7 days of the test. 

How do the online tests work? 

All the tests are completed online via WISEflow. The test in ISO 21500/ISO 21502 also requires the FLOWlock browser via WISEflow. The FLOWlock browser needs to be set up in advance and will make sure that other applications are blocked during the test. You will receive instructions on how to download and set up the FLOWlock browser approximately 4 days before the test. You will also receive a link to the test from the WISEflow system. You access the test via this link. 

What types of questions can I expect? 

The tests have multiple choice questions, some true/false questions and a case. 

How long do I have to complete the tests? 

A total of 75 min. is available to finish the test for ISO 21500/ISO 21502. For the tests in ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27005, 60 minutes are available each. 

I am dyslexic, can I get additional time? 

Yes, you can get an additional time if you are dyslexic and let us know in advance. For the test in ISO 21500/ISO 21502 you get 20 minutes extra. For the tests in ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27005, you get 15 minutes extra each. 

Do I have to be physically present at my university/school to do the tests? 

The tests are online, and you can sit anywhere while taking the test. 

Am I allowed to sit with other students while taking the tests? 

You must not do the ISO 21500/ISO 21502 test with other students. For the tests in ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27005 you are free to do the tests with others. 

Are aids allowed? 

For the test in ISO 21500/ISO 21502, no aids are allowed including the ISO standards, notes, cell phones, or other PCs/laptops. However, aids are allowed for the two tests in ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27005. 

If I fail the tests, can I redo it some other time? 

Yes, you can redo the tests, but you must pay the registration fee again. 

What do I get if I pass the tests? 

You will receive a digital diploma for each test. 

How long will my diploma be valid for? 

There is no expiration date for the diplomas. 

Do I have to redo the tests if the standards are reviewed? 

No, you don’t have to redo the tests. 

Can I do the tests if I graduate and am no longer a student? 

Yes, we will grant permission to students that have recently graduated to take the tests. 

How do I get access to the standards? 

You get access to the standards via the digital library of your university. The standards are copyright protected but your university or school has a license granting you access to the standards. 

If you are a student at CBS, you will receive a link that grants you access to the standards after you have paid the registration fee.
