Young Professionals Workshop: Standardization and Standards as a strategic tool

As a young professional interested in areas like product innovation and development, you can join our free Young Professionals workshop where you will gain knowledge about standardization and how standards are a valuable strategic tool.  

About

The purpose of the workshop is to give young people the opportunity to learn about standards and standardization and gain knowledge about how the requirements of the future markets are defined in the formal standardization organizations.  

Are you a young professional (35 years or younger) and have strong interests in areas like product innovation and development? If so, join our free Young Professionals workshop where you will gain knowledge about standardization and how standards are a valuable strategic tool.  

What to expect 

  • You will gain knowledge about how international standards are developed. 
  • You will learn how standards are a valuable strategic tool.  
  • You will meet and interact with young professionals.  
  • You will participate in a role-playing game simulating the discussion in a working group within an imaginary organization of standardization.  
  • Participants will receive a Diploma and free membership in a standardization committee for a trial period of 1 ½ years. 

Target Group 

Young technicians/engineers/PhD students (no older than 35 years) employed at a Danish company or a PhD student working on a project in a Danish company.  

You should have an interest in learning about standards and standardization.

  • 09.00-09.30: Registration, coffee and tea 
  • 09.30-10.00: Welcome and opening session

  • 11.15-12.45: Interactive session: The standardization game 
  • 12.45-13.30: Lunch break  
  • 13.30-14.00: Presentation and outputs from the game 
  • 14.00-14.05: How to get involved in standardization? 
  • 14.05-14.15: Summary and closing  
  • 14.15-14.30: Diploma handouts and roof top photo 
  • 14.30-15.30: Refreshments and networking 
  • 15.30: Farewell
