Webinar - Alignment of Global Greenhouse Gas Standards

Attend this joint Nordic webinar by Danish Standards, Standard Norway, Swedish Institute for Standards, and Finnish Standards to learn more about the scope, purpose, and planned approach of the new ISO and GHG Protocol partnership.

About the webinar

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) – a joint initiative of World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) – are the two leading global frameworks for GHG accounting.

Until now, their standards have been developed separately, with different scopes and approaches to verification. ISO’s 1406X series forms the basis for legislation, regulation, and verification in many industries, while the GHG Protocol underpins major sustainability and disclosure initiatives worldwide.

ISO and the GHG Protocol have now launched a landmark collaboration to align their methodologies into a single, unified international framework for greenhouse gas accounting and reporting. By bringing together the ISO 1406X series and GHG Protocol standards, the partnership merges technical rigor with policy relevance and practical usability. The goal is to improve global consistency and comparability, strengthening the foundation for credible climate action.

Danish Standards (DS), in cooperation with Standard Norway (SN), Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS) and Finnish Standards (SFS), invites you to a joint Nordic webinar to learn more about the scope, purpose, and planned approach of the new ISO-GHG Protocol partnership.

During the webinar, Marco Rossi, Director at ISO, will share insights into why this work is critical and how it will impact organizations globally. Moreover, Nordic experts already involved in the process will provide an update on ongoing work, explain how the alignment is progressing, and outline opportunities for stakeholder involvement throughout 2026. You will also get the opportunity to ask questions.
